Well, this is my first attempt, so I'll start by just introducing myself. I am pastor of a small Baptist church in Chibougamau, Quebec, was a missionary in Spain for 18 years, and for the past 3 years have been visiting Honduras with my wife, Lise (10 days each year). I am the father of five adult children.
We returned from our last trip to Honduras on March 5th, where we regularly spend time in children's Home where our daughter Melodie works. As we are each time we were impacted by the immense poverty that seems to be self-perpetuating, and by the impact our North American companies are having on the Honduran people. Next Monday evening Lise and I will be putting on a presentation about our impressions of Honduras in the local college. Someone I invited asked: "Will this be religious?" I said "no", but afterward I realized it will be very religious, since part of true religion is "visiting the widow and the orphan" according to James.
As I am doing this from a dial-up situation, I will leave this for today.
