A week of ups and downs Une semaine de hauts et des bas

Last week I was able to enjoy our yearly pastors retreat in Magog. We had some very encouraging messages by Jacques Alexanian, and it was great to be able to chat with different pastors that I don't get to see often.
On my way home, as I was approaching LaTuque, there was a sickening thud and tearing sound on my front left - my tire was torn. And i didn't have a jack! Two hours later, I left LaTuque with a second hand replacement. Got home at 2:30 am.
By the way the Good Friday children's activity was a great success. We had 15 children present, 10 of them unchurched.
For the past couple of days Lise has been practicing for her driving test tomorrow. She's a bit nervous about it, but I think she has a very good chance of passing it.
La semaine passée j'ai pu jouir de notre retraite pastorale annuelle à Magog. Nous avons entendu de obns messages encourageants de la part de Jacques Alexanian, et c'était bon de renouer contact avec quelques pasteurs que je n'ai pas l'occasion de voir souvent.
En venant à la maison, j'approchait La Tuque quand j'ai entendu ou senti un drôle de bruit et un déchirement , tandis que l'avant droit de ma voiture a baissé soudainement. Mon pneu était fini. Et je n'avais même pas de crique!
Deux heures plus tard je partias de La Tuque avec un pneu usagé. Je suis arrivé chez nous à 2:30 du matin.
Depuis deux ou trois jours je fais pratiquer la conduite à Lise, puisse qu'elle passe son examen de conduire demain. Elle se sent un peu nerveux, mais je pense qu'elle a une bonne possibilité de réussir.
En passant, notre activité de vendredi saint a été un succès. Nous avons eu 15 enfants, 10 parmi eux n'étant attaché à aucune église.

Easter Projects - Projets de Pâques

This week our big "project" for Chibougamau is our Good Friday children's program in which they are invited to celebrate with us and watch the "God Rocks" film, put out by the Billy Graham evangelistic association. We'll have a program of fun, cake, song, along with the film, but the main object is to get them interested in the Gospel.
It is difficult to prepare a project like that here. For instance: How many can we expect? Will they come with their parents, grand parents, alone, or not at all? We are expecting anywhere between 2-3 children to 15-20 children! And we are trying to prepare our hearts with a mixture of faith and not being disappointed!
If we do manage to get a number of children we can use that as a preparation for our summer DVBS with Annie. (July 13-17).
Sunday aftgernoon I'll be driving to Quebec city where I'll sleep over and Dan and Claudia's (our son and daughter in law) and be in Magog for the pastorale conference starting Monday afternoon. I'll be able to see our daughter Annie on Wednesday for her birthday.

Cette semaine notre grand "projet" pour Chibougamau, c'est notre programme de vendredi saint pour les enfants, avec le film "Rez, la Roche qui Roule". Nous aurons une fête avec cela, du divertissement, du gâteau ... mais le but, évidemment est d'intéresser les enfants à l'évangile.
Il est difficile de préparer un projet comme cela. Par exemple: Combien d'enfants pouvons-nous nous attendre à voir? viendront-ils avec leurs parents? gfrand-parents? seuls? ou pas du tout? Nous pourrions avoir 2-3 enfants comme 15-20 enfants, et nous n'avons absolument aucune idée! Si nous réussissons à avoir un bon nombre d'enfants, cela pourrait être une préparation pour notre École Biblique de vacances, avec Annie du 13-17 juillet.
Dimanche après-midi, je conduis à Québec où je dormirai chez Dan et Claudia (notre fils et belle-fille) et serai à Magog pour la pastorale de notre Association, qui commence lundi après-midi. Mercredi je pourrai rejoindre notre fille Annie à Sherbrooke pour sa fête.
